Decisions, decisions, decisions!

For as long as I can remember, I've had a hard time making a decision. Something as small as picking out a greeting card would have me standing in the aisle for a long time. Don't get me started on restaurants like The Cheesecake Factory with 30 page menus! Even though I always know that whatever I choose will be delicious, I still go back and forth not wanting to make the wrong choice and be disappointed.

Recently, I've been exploring things about myself that I want to change. I realized that being indecisive has been a problem that I am ready to change. I thought about why it's so hard for me. Am I afraid to make the wrong choice? Will I have to deal with unwanted consequences? What if it doesn't turn out the way I hope? All these questions rattle in my brain. But you know something? I've decided..

NO MORE.

So what if I pick the wrong thing? Isn't life about learning from mistakes and growing from them? Let me share some things I've decided to do to help me be more decisive in my life.

1. Realize it's ok to make a mistake. If it doesn't work out, learn from it, and make a different choice the next time.

2. If it's a tough decision, seek wise counsel. Run your ideas by a trusted friend or counselor.

3. Think about what you want before a situation where a choice comes up. If I'm ready to eat, I can decide what I want before I get there. (Side note:If it's The Cheesecake Factory, getting a cheesecake is an easy YES!)

4. Just make a choice! It will be ok, I promise.

In this new year, let's make our decisions count. Let YES be YES, and NO be NO!
