Purpose by Design

purpose: (noun) 1.the reason for which something exists or is done, made, used, etc. 2.an intended or desired result; end; aim; goal.

This week has been an emotional one for me. This year I launched a business and started a new phase in my life. I recently re-evaluated the goals I set for myself for the first quarter of the year, and sad to say, it's almost March, and I am well behind! I decided it was time to refocus and get myself together. I thought about how much I needed to get done, and it was overwhelming.

So, I took a step back and figured I better seek some guidance. I reached out to a former colleague and asked her to mentor me (Side note: If you're trying to go somewhere, find someone who's in the place you want to be and seek their guidance and direction). In our first conversation, I was empowered! I took a lot of notes and soaked in everything she told me. One thing she said stood out to me. She asked me "Who are you called to serve?" I didn't really have an answer.

I began to pray and asked God, "Send me who you have for me." Well, as surely as God is good, I began to notice the type of clients I was receiving and realized the population He was leading me to serve. I don't believe anything in my life has happened by accident. I know that there are things that I've experienced because of where my purpose was leading me. Now, I feel energized and determined to chase after the purpose I was designed to accomplish.

I ask you... What is your purpose? What is it that you feel led to do but are afraid to do? Are there things in your life that you need to let go of in order to move forward? In order to get something new, you have to let go of the old. Now is the time! I encourage to find out what it is and chase after it with all your might.
