Angel Shaw, Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) is the Owner and Founder of Hearts of Light Counseling & Consulting. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Oral Roberts University and her Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas. Angel has over 8 years of experience in the field of counseling. She is a certified Bilingual educator who has taught in the Richardson and Duncanville Independent School Districts and served as certified School Counselor in the Cedar Hill Independent School District. Angel is a member of the Texas Counseling Association, Clinicians of Color network, a Gottman trained leader for the 7 Principles for Making Marriage work, and a Prepare-Enrich Facilitator. Her key areas of counseling services focus on working with men and women suffering from grief resulting from divorce or loss of relationship, couples (pre-marital and marriage) counseling, as well as individuals dealing with general life stress and dysfunction. Angel uses her knowledge from the education arena as well as her extensive training in counseling to help build strong, healthy families that function successfully in all areas of their lives. Using Reality therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), and other cognitive techniques, Angel focuses on helping clients learn practical strategies to help them identify their goals in life and how their present life functioning helps or hinders them from moving forward toward those goals.
